About The Position

The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and installing electrical and instrumentation systems supporting PROPWR’s power generation assets. This role supports safe, reliable operation of engines, generators, balance-of-plant equipment, and site infrastructure through disciplined execution of electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience maintaining and repairing electrical and electronic instrumentation in industrial, energy, or power generation environments
  • Technical certification or Associate degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline (preferred)
  • Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to interact in a professional manner with clients, team, and personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Personable and able to maintain strong rapport with organizational leadership, clients, and team
  • Must be driven, self-motivated, well-organized, and have good time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software
  • Must be physically able to sit or stand for long periods, work indoors and outdoors, and withstand extreme weather conditions
  • Must be physically able to safely operate a company vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAT G3520 engine packages preferred
  • Experience with Solar SMT60 turbine packages preferred
  • Proficient user of CAT ET and other diagnostic software
  • Fundamental understanding of natural gas reciprocating and turbine engines
  • Fundamental understanding of control systems and instrumentation
  • Fundamental understanding of power generators and electricity
  • Fundamental understanding of network protocols and communication devices

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic instrumentation used to monitor and control power generation equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems, instrumentation loops, and monitoring equipment
  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot wiring, sensors, transmitters, and control devices
  • Troubleshoot electrical power, control, and monitoring circuits associated with engines, generators, and auxiliary systems
  • Support installation and commissioning of new power generation assets and site expansions
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Commissioning teams to resolve design or installation issues
  • Perform point-to-point checks, loop checks, and functional testing during commissioning activities
  • Documents work performed, diagnostic steps taken, and parts used in the company’s Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Must be safety conscious and willing to use stop work authority when necessary
  • Perform general housekeeping and routine maintenance of Company property, including but not limited to service vehicle and trailer.
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
