About The Position

Colorado Network Staffing, Inc. (CNS) is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Instrumentation, Electrical, and Control (IE&C) Specialist to support a power generation facility with both technical and programmatic responsibilities. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, designing, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining instrumentation and control systems, as well as leading updates to the Power Plant Instrument Tech Apprenticeship Program and developing detailed Job Plans for preventive maintenance (PM) procedures. The IE&C Specialist works closely with craft leadership, planning teams, and program committees to ensure reliability, compliance, and workforce development. Requirements

  • Completion of a certified DOL-recognized IE&C apprenticeship program OR Five (5) or more years of experience in troubleshooting, designing, repairing, and calibrating communication, instrumentation, and control systems and related equipment.
  • Must be able to pass applicable site access requirements and background screenings.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license may be required depending on site needs.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update the Power Plant Instrument Technician Apprenticeship Program to reflect current craft standards and best practices.
  • Evaluate Task Performance Evaluations (TPEs) for relevance to the I&C craft; remove outdated or irrelevant TPEs.
  • Develop new TPEs and enhance existing ones with specific tasks, skills, and knowledge requirements.
  • Organize TPEs logically by program block to improve program flow and apprentice comprehension.
  • Review Computer-Based Trainings (CBTs) to ensure they align with training objectives and technical relevance.
  • Communicate proposed updates and enhancements with the Apprenticeship Committee for approval and alignment.
  • Focus on South Plant Aero-derivative Generation (SPAG) site preventive maintenance procedures and job plan accuracy.
  • Develop and write comprehensive Job Plans for all PM activities at the SPAG site.
  • Conduct research on job requirements and equipment specifications for each PM activity.
  • Revise and improve existing Job Plans to include critical details such as: System Description Asset and Equipment Details Manufacturer and Model Numbers Outage Classifications Estimated Man-Hours Safety Requirements Resource and Tool Requirements Relevant Part Numbers Step-by-step Job Plan Procedures
  • Collaborate with the I&C Supervisor and I&C Planner to capture and enter new or revised Job Plans into the Maximo system.
