The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer plays a key role supporting Technology, Projects, & Execution (TPE) Innovation Research & Development (R&D) and Specialty Sales Technology (SST) Product Development Projects at Richmond Technology Center (RTC). This includes leading the shaping of innovative Chevron Transformation Technology and Base Business projects that further Chevron’s Enterprise strategy of delivering lower Carbon and higher returns. This role upholds RTC Facilities, Labs & Maintenance (FLM) team’s mission to operate safely, reliably, predictably, without incident producing confident results. This involves taking a lead role in working on project teams that involve collaborating with PhD Researcher Engineers, Research Technologists, Technicians, Pipe & Machine Shop, Instrument & Electrical Shop, Discipline Enterprise Engineers and Innovation Leadership. Further, this role establishes priorities for project work, develops instrumentation and controls engineering designs, and drives projects through all 5 phases of the RTC Project Lifecycle. Project Managers are assigned R&D projects by the Team Leader of RTC Project Services. A successful candidate must have an astute stakeholder management mindset that builds relationships at the forefront of solution delivery.
