About The Position

In the role of Plant Maintenance Electrician/Instrumentation Controls Technician working in Wheat Ridge, CO you will perform advanced level mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on individual and complex systems and processes. Work is performed on a wide scope of systems, processes and environments. Performing mechanical maintenance and repairs will be a routine requirement of this position in addition to electrical and controls knowledge and skills. Schedule: Rotating monthly on a 4x4 12 hour shift This position's primary responsibility uses hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. Proficient with PLC’s, VFD’s, electrical controls, relay logic and software, as well as mechanical theory and practical application of system function. Requires troubleshooting electrical systems using ladder logic, electrical prints and/or schematics. Responsible for electrical systems under 600 volts for all plant assets. Advanced Computer skills required. Must meet requirements to be a Qualified Electrical Worker for this role. Works as an Electrician and Mechanic in a widely skilled multi-craft role. Assists in the training of new employees and trainees. Performs all work in a safe manner, always demonstrating proper use of safety equipment and PPE. Requires interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all teams across the organization.

Requirements

  • Industrial apprenticeship program, technical training and/or military training.
  • Must hold certificate of competency in applicable field(s).
  • Work experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment required.
  • Military experience in a technical field will be considered.
  • Must demonstrate skills in the following: interpersonal relationships, active listening, team building, communication, problem solving, planning, organizing, scheduling, safety minded and negotiating with continuous improvement focus.
  • Must possess self-control, initiative, patience, influence, and a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to receive and give constructive criticism.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Industrial Journeyman level and/or on-the-job experience in a heavy industrial, high-speed production Electrical/electronic/controls field.
  • Must be experienced to work safely with power up to and including 480 volts.
  • Proficient in the use of the following: test instruments (volt/ohm multi-meters, clamp-on amp meters, meggers transducers, oscilloscopes and PLC and processor-based program/diagnostic panels.)
  • This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude in addition to electrical experience to be effective in this role.
