About The Position

The Facilities I&C Engineer Lead at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment with other engineering subject areas to provide high quality engineering services and discipline team oversight for planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the sites Facilities Instrumentation and Controls as well as the Toxic Gas monitoring and Fire Alarm systems in support of semiconductor manufacturing. In this role, you will work within Facilities, Manufacturing, and Global teams through all phases of funding, design, construction, installation, start-up, operations, and maintenance and will ensure environmental, safety, regulatory, and code compliance.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree or appropriate certification/licensing.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, and assign priority ranking according to company goals.
  • Ability to use schematic diagrams to troubleshoot systems to components level.
  • Demonstrates AutoCAD skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Eight or more years of experience in industrial controls engineered systems.
  • Design facilities systems efficiently.
  • Ability to make data driven decisions with customer involvement and understanding.
  • Ability to provide all information and details to enable efficiency in construction and startup of the design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a sustaining consultant I&C design team to develop construction drawings and P&IDs that meet project timelines and budget constraints and conduct regular field inspections during construction to ensure alignment with Micron specifications, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Assess existing communication and controls systems for safety and integrity, providing recommendations and designs for improvements.
  • Ensure constructability of designs in active building environments, minimizing disruptions to ongoing operations.
  • Provide engineering consultation to Operations, Maintenance, and Manufacturing teams, and proactively communicate issues that may impact Fab performance, tool availability, or production throughput.
  • Follow all safety and environmental protocols—including PPE, CoHe (lockout/tagout), and chemical safety—and actively participate in EHS program.
  • Shape strategic decisions, analyze systems data for performance and cost improvements, and offer timely mentorship and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and stakeholders on new system purchases, prepare project scopes, lead I&C meetings, and ensure facility compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provide engineering support to ensure compliance and safety, lead R&D on emerging facilities technologies, analyze systems data for performance and cost optimization, and mentor teams to resolve critical technical issues.
