Opportunity Summary The Instrumentation Controls and Electrical (IC&E) Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment in the power plant and the associated facilities. The IC&E Technician performs work of high skill in the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of all electronic and electrical power plant equipment and systems. Your scope of responsibility as IC&E Technician will include the following primary functions: Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systems Inspect, repair, install and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and storage batteries, and work with electrical systems up to and including 23,500 volts Conduct troubleshooting and analysis on DCS, PLC and turbine control equipment Maintain all plant instrumentation and electrical test equipment Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipment Assist in maintaining and controlling spare parts inventory to maintain plant reliability Assist in physical inventories Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance records Assist in operation of plant equipment and systems as directed Fully support and participate in NAES Safety and Regulatory Compliance Programs Complete other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager NAES Safe Safety is a core value of NAES and as a condition of employment, all employees are expected to be mentally alert and work safely at all times. Working Relationships The IC&E Technician reports directly to the IC&E Supervisor and receives general direction from plant management. This role also involves working with the utility on matters related to daily plant operations. Additionally, the IC&E Technician coordinates with contractors and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) personnel to ensure proper support and collaboration. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Power plant environment that may involve entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise. Work may include high heat near equipment and varying outdoor weather conditions. Some duties may require the use of protective equipment, which can include hard hats, safety glasses, and eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility. Fitness for Duty All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening. Work Schedule This position follows a 3x10 or 4x10 work schedule, with additional rotating on-call coverage as needed. Compensation This position offers a base pay rate ranging from $34 to $69 per hour, along with an annual performance bonus and overtime opportunities.
