About The Position
WSG Energy Services is seeking an Instrumentation Commissioning Technician to support instrumentation commissioning and start-up activities for an urgent 40MW temporary power project in Texas, with anticipated transition into a larger 200MW power generation project. The Instrumentation Commissioning Technician supports field execution of instrumentation commissioning activities, including loop checks, device verification, and start-up support. This role reports to the Instrument Commissioning Lead or Supervisor.
Requirements
- Instrumentation Journeyman ticket or equivalent
- 2+ years commissioning or completions experience
- Familiarity with control systems and industrial instrumentation
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Execute commissioning activities in compliance with site safety standards
- Ensure permits, FLHAs, and isolation requirements are met
- Perform loop checks, calibration verification, and instrument testing
- Support PLC/DCS loop testing and automation coordination
- Conduct walkdowns, punch verification, and check sheet completion
- Support PSSR and start-up activities
- Assist with troubleshooting instrumentation and control issues
- Coordinate with vendors during commissioning and start-up
