Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field required.
  • 2-3 years of lab experience, which may be covered academically.
  • Professional Skills: HPLC, GC, IC, ICP, AA, UV preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business software including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with instrument software such as OpenLab/Chemstation and Chromeleon preferred.
  • Experience with calibration/maintenance software Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and issue work orders for in-house standards and pendial testing. Track the results.
  • Create, track, and maintain validation documentation for all laboratory instrumentation.
  • Maintain Blue Mountain software for covered items.
  • Update or write methods for calibration, maintenance, or instrument use.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation when breakdowns occur.
  • Write laboratory investigation reports that include the cause of instrument failure, repairs, and impact on data analyzed on instrumentation.
  • Schedule and oversee third-party technicians on site to perform calibrations and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager, QA/Metrology.
