About The Position

The Instrumentation and Controls Manager leads and oversees the technical readiness, inspection, instrumentation, controls, and electrical integrity of Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) Packages. This role manages a team of technicians and specialists responsible for conducting system inspections, troubleshooting, calibrations, software/configuration updates, and quality verification prior to deployment. The manager drives operational excellence, ensures technical compliance, and partners with cross functional teams to resolve issues and enhance product reliability.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s) including pre-employment Pulmonary Function Test (PFT.)
  • Daily in-person, predictable attendance in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline required. An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of instrumentation, electrical, turbine, or power systems experience.
  • Strong ability to understand wiring diagrams, control schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Advanced knowledge of instrumentation (RTDs, thermocouples, pressure devices).
  • Proficiency with diagnostic equipment including digital multimeters, loop calibrators, pressure calibration tools, Megger insulation testers
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers, vendors, and cross functional internal teams.
  • Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, engineering software, and ERP systems.
  • Leadership capabilities with strong organization, planning, and execution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Field service, power plant, or gas turbine experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PLC/programming environments such as GE Proficy, Siemens S7, and Woodward GAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all pre deployment inspections, including electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation verifications.
  • Oversee Point to Point panel checks and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Lead AC and DC system troubleshooting, including insulation testing, phase checks, and system integrity reviews.
  • Supervise loading and verification of control system software for main and auxiliary controllers, including VFD drives.
  • Ensure precise calibration of instrumentation such as pressure transmitters, differential transmitters, level sensors, RTDs, and thermocouples.
  • Oversee instrument loop checks and ensure compliance with standards and documentation requirements.
  • Provide high level technical expertise to resolve escalated control system, electrical, and instrumentation issues.
  • Monitor vendor and internal quality performance; generate and drive closure of Non Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Enhance procedures, work instructions, and documentation standards to improve equipment reliability and operational consistency.
  • Ensure all technical activities follow safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality to analyze recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and diagnostic systems in compliance with operational standards.
  • Support factory floor operations, technical troubleshooting, and customer facing issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations to ensure equipment is fully validated for deployment.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of electrical, instrumentation, and controls professionals.
  • Assign daily priorities, allocate resources, and ensure timely completion of technical tasks.
  • Build team capability through training, performance feedback, and continuous skill development.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Field Operations, and Manufacturing to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
