As an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer, you’ll play a key role in modernizing critical systems at power-generating facilities by helping transition from analog to advanced digital technologies. This position is perfect for early-career engineers (1–3 years of experience) with a background in electrical or mechanical engineering who are eager to dive into complex, high-impact projects and grow their expertise in digital I&C systems. In this role, you’ll perform a variety of challenging design engineering tasks, including preparing Engineering Change Packages (ECPs) to upgrade obsolete analog systems with state-of-the-art digital platforms. You’ll conduct engineering calculations, develop design studies, and contribute to project scopes and cost estimates. Your work will also involve reviewing technical documentation from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure hardware and software meet project requirements. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers and clients, providing input for budget and schedule planning while participating in project meetings to ensure alignment and success. Your understanding of regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards specific to digital I&C systems will be essential in delivering safe, compliant, and innovative solutions. You’ll also have the opportunity to travel to plant sites, where you’ll interface with client personnel and perform walk-downs of plant systems and components, bringing your designs to life and gaining valuable field experience. Through professional communication and quality engineering work, you’ll build strong, lasting relationships with clients and team members alike.
