About the Role: Fermilab’s Machine Shop Department is seeking a full-time Instrument Welder to join the team. Under general supervision, provides full range of assigned welding services in all laboratory environments What your day-to-day as an Instrument Welder at Fermilab will look like: Operates all types of welding equipment including MIG, TIG, conventional electric, conventional gas apparatus or programmable welding devices. Applies equipment to welding a variety of metals such as iron, steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Sets up and uses appropriate equipment to provide a timely, cost effective and high quality service. Maintains required certifications to ensure competence in such areas as the welding of vacuum or pressure vessels/lines. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
