Your Opportunity We are seeking a career minded Instrument Technician to join our Land Survey team in Tampa, Florida. We provide our clients a full range of surveying and mapping services. Through our work, we define land boundaries and analyze spatial data. You will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor. You will perform surveying, mapping and data collection activities.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of surveying.
  • Requires ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Requires basic math skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Prior to employment, this position will require the successful passing of a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work

Responsibilities

  • Collects data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimension of land or land features.
  • Assists survey crew in operating and maintaining survey instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors.
  • Performs basic tasks including holding level rod, prism pole or tape at designated points, laying out stakes, and clearing brush and trees from line of survey with machete, brush hook or chainsaw.
  • Maintains equipment and survey vehicle; cleans and organizes vehicle.
  • Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
