About The Position

Instrument Tech Job with On the Job Training, Night shift 11p-7:30a, Central Sterilizing Powers Health is hiring for a full-time instrument tech to work nights for central sterilizing at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. Central Sterilizing directly support surgical services by caring for, preparing, and maintaining instruments, equipment, inventory and supplies in CSR. Instrument Tech Roles and Responsibilities: Responsible for the care, preparation, and maintenance of instruments, equipment, inventory and supplies in CSR and Clean Room of MOR. Cleans, decontaminates, identifies, inspects and assembles instrumentation for use in a sterile procedure. Sterilizes items and completes quality control checks as required. Ensures proper inventory levels. Assembles Surgical Case Carts. Tracks loaner instrumentation as needed. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess effective reading and communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable using a desktop computer.
  • Training for this position is provided on the job.
  • Certification from an accredited Central Service Technician Program is required within two (2) years of hire.
  • Failure to obtain your certification within this two (2) year period of employment will result in termination.

Responsibilities
