Instrument Specialist/Coordinator | Sterile Processing | Variable | Full Time
About The Position
Supports patient care by monitoring the quality of sterile supplies and the decontamination of equipment, per departmental policies/procedures and in accordance with pertinent hospital policies and governmental regulatory agencies. Maintains instrument tracking system data, collects and reports departmental metrics related to missing instruments and instrument utilization. Maintains par levels for backup instrument inventory and submits purchase requisitions as needed. Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external entities, customers, vendors and other parties for the purpose of instrument purchasing coordination and implementation of use.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess and exhibit effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must have strong computer skills.
- Requires Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician credential (CRCST). If not certified, certification will be required within one (1) year of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) years central sterile processing experience or operating room technician experience preferred.
