About The Position

COMPANY: Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. LOCATION: 168 Third Ave., Waltham, MA 02451 (can work remotely) TITLE: Instrument Sales Representative III HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm DUTIES: Build successful account and territory plans and translate territory strategy into business results. Build successful capital equipment sales and large reagent deals including funnel management skills and strong hunting, prospecting, and closing skills. Create territory planning using market knowledge and accurate and timely forecasting. Develop and lead a business plan to meet or exceed business goals agreed upon by commercial management for the territory. Manage the entire sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of Salesforce system and other designated IT tools. Use scientific project and business needs of the customer to position a GA solution (qPCR, Digital PCR, sequencing, and/or microarray) to win the business and actively promote and sell consumables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field of study.
  • 2 years of sales experience within the life sciences field or related experience.
  • Required knowledge or experience with qPCR, dPCR, Sanger sequencing, Capillary Electrophoresis, and microarray.
  • Experience in selling in academic, industrial, and federal government accounts.
  • Capital sales competence: funnel management skills, with strong hunting/prospecting and closing skills.
  • Developing and leading a business plan to meet or exceed business goals.
  • Manage sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracing using the Salesforce system.
