About The Position

Tectonic is actively seeking a full-time Instrument Person to work on upcoming projects based out of our Brandon, FL Office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions of this position include the setup, maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment, the operation of survey instruments in the field including total stations, levels, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment. They will also prepare survey sites and remove all obstacles, including debris, brush, tree limbs, etc. Essential functions also include maintaining neat and accurate field records and survey notes, assisting the Crew Chief in field day to day operations, maintaining field vehicles and supplies, uploading and downloading data collection information and photographs, and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year surveying experience, with the ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of surveying equipment
  • Must be detail oriented, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed, and be available for travel for overnight assignments
  • Must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent
  • May be able to obtain OSHA training within a reasonable period of time
  • Must possess a valid, clean, driver’s license

  • AAS in Surveying a plus
