About The Position

Are you ready to start your career in land surveying? We are EPS Group, and we have excellent and rare opportunity for a motivated individual to join our survey team as an Instrument Operator based out of our Greeley, CO office. This is a full-time field position, and no prior experience is required. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and enjoys working outdoors. You will receive hands-on training from our professional surveyors, learning to operate survey instruments and mastering field procedures from the ground up. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Ability to learn and operate survey field equipment daily.
  • Ability to perform physical labor (i.e., strenuous walking, lifting, and hauling equipment) daily.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, process, and verify field data.
  • Assist Crew Chief with all field operations, survey computations, data accuracy, staking projects for construction, data processing, record maintenance, and organizing data files, field books, and equipment.
  • Understand and follow safety procedures and practices and work safely to comply with all regulations.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and adhere to site-specific PPE or OSHA requirements.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance and charging batteries daily.
  • Responsible for keeping the survey truck clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
  • Use and care for hand tools, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Recognize and report problems to the Crew Chief.
  • Understand and use survey equipment, standards, and terminology.
  • Willing to be flexible with schedules, understanding that some days may require longer hours to complete a project, and some days will be shorter due to weather or workload.
  • Understand and follow company practices and processes to perform tasks on time and within budget.
  • Follow specific, outlined, and detailed directions.
  • Work is closely managed and reviewed for accuracy and adequacy.
  • Accountable for situational success and resolve readily identifiable problems with limited scope following standard practices, procedures, and processes.
  • Responsibility to meet project task targets and for completing projects on time.
  • Interact with team, clients, and vendors professionally, care for the EPS Group brand and culture.
  • Responsible for completing timecards accurately and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Achieve a 92-97% Billable Utilization Rate. Non-billable activities include company & team meetings, professional development, community involvement, innovation time, culture & engagement activities, learning, and training.
