About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Instrument Operator- Surveying for our Valhalla, NY office. Be involved in our Geospatial Survey team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact Candidate can expect to be a supporting role for work on a wide variety of projects including transportation, environmental, water/wastewater, commercial, residential, solid waste, and energy from rural areas to urban areas. Utilize survey instruments to perform field surveys. Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, location data, statistical documentation, studies and surveys, and construction. Complete training on assigned tasks. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 0-2+ years of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Must possess a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work outside in all climates.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred.
