ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Operate survey instruments virtually every day with little or no supervision, while striving to increase speed and accuracy Perform Coordinate Geometry (COGO) functions such as inverse, resection, stake a line, translate and rotate coordinates in the field Make field book notes and sketches of data gathered at job site Call out reading or writes station number and reading in notebook Mark points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark Measure distance between survey points with steel tape, cloth tape or electronic instruments Mark measuring points with keel (marking crayon), paint sticks, scratches, tacks, or stakes Place stakes at designated points and drives them into ground at specified elevation Cut and clears brush and trees from line of survey Perform other duties as directed by Crew Chief and/or professional surveyor
