About The Position

Position Summary: The Coord Materials Service will be responsible ordering and stocking sterilization supplies. Ordering replacement instruments for the Sterile Processing Department. Partnering with supply chain to research new product availability, following up on back ordered items. Checking for expired supplies, rotating supply inventory . He/she will also be responsible for the activities related to decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of instruments for procedures. The technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overa ll plan of care delivery at SMC.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • CRCST Required
  • One to three years' experience as a Central Sterile Technician or Operating Room Technician Required
  • Basic to advance knowledge in the role of placing and receiving department orders through the supply chain system
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills
  • Communicates positively and professionally with internal and external customers
