About The Position

The Instrument and Electrical Engineer at BASF is responsible for engineering new installations or upgrades to electrical, instrumentation, and control systems within a chemical manufacturing site. This role involves providing technical support for operations, reliability, and maintenance, ensuring adherence to BASF Technical Standards and industry regulations, and leading improvement efforts in maintenance programs. The engineer will also act as a liaison for project management and oversee small to medium-scope projects, ensuring compliance with safety and ecological standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred or 10+ years of related work experience preferred.
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with electrical systems.

  • Experience with instrumentation and control systems.
  • Familiarity with BASF Technical Standards and industry regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering new installations or upgrades to electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Providing technical support for project execution, commissioning, and troubleshooting operational systems.
  • Specifying requirements and obtaining quotes for instruments, controls, and electrical equipment.
  • Leading improvement and sustainability efforts in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Serving as a representative for electrical/instrumentation/controls design and engineering.
  • Reviewing safety and loss prevention standards and governmental codes for project compliance.
  • Arranging and leading meetings with departments, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Entering requisitions, project information, and work requests, tracking and coordinating progress.
