Xcel Energy is seeking one (1) or more Ins tr ument & Con tro l Tech F 's for Nichols Station in Amarillo, TX. Summary Job duties will include, but not limited to: Maintain , troubleshoot and ins tall computer systems and assist with control systems in fossil-fired generating plants. Make recommendations to improve operation and efficiency. Perform computer maintenance, analyze problems and ins tallation of computer control systems including plant ins tr ument ation, environmental monitoring systems, recording, transmitting and indicating equipment. Assist in the maintenance, calibration, ins tallation, analysis, tuning & performance evaluation of control systems including boiler controls, turbine governor controls, water treatment process controls, etc. Perform plant testing for plant betterment and predictive equipment maintenance. Assist in planning, ins talling and supporting ins tr ument and control systems including preparing budget estimates, material specifications, scheduling, fabrication, etc. Troubleshoot plant equipment and systems to recommend maintenance or modification to plant operating and maintenance procedures. The employee will be required to actively participate in hands-on training, classroom training and computer interactive training programs, as directed by management.  Travel to other locations may be . Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Must have successfully passed the Edison Electric Ins titute (EEI) Maintenance Positions Selection Systems (MASS) test
Must respond to overtime and call outs
Must commit to working safely and adhere to Company safety rules including wearing a hard hat, safety footwear, protective eye wear and Proper Protective Equipment (PPE)
Able to lift 50 pounds
Valid driver's license
Must be respirator qualified (Pulmonary Function Test)
Must take Base line Audiogram
Successfully pass the Xcel Energy screening requirements, which include a drug test, security clearance and other exams that are required by federal regulations, such as OSHA and DOT, will be performed as required

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree in Computer Science & Programming, Computer Information Systems, Computer Networking & Communications or Ins tr ument ation and Controls is preferred.
