The School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) invites applications for part-time (varied FTE), 9-month, fixed-term Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2025-2026 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Head of School. The position will develop and/or teach courses in undergraduate and/or graduate course in the School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) within the College of Engineering (COE) at Oregon State University (OSU) Instructors may be needed to teach courses in the following areas: computer-aided design, mechanics, design, dynamics, controls, mechatronics, thermal fluid sciences, materials science, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering and aerospace engineering.   • Teaching and Instruction
  • Prepare and/or teach courses in undergraduate and/or graduate areas.
  • Teach or coordinate instruction in laboratory, studio, or recitation settings.
  • Contribute to OSU initiatives for promoting student success and enhancing diversity at OSU.
  • Service
  • Participate in School and program meetings
  • M.S. or M.A. in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrable excellence in teaching.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment for students.
  • Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or area related to subject/field of instruction.
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • Experience with online teaching.
  • Current Professional Engineer license for any state in the United States.
  • Experience with course management tools such as Canvas.
  • Experience teaching engineering software programs such as Python, SolidWorks, NX, and OnShape.
  • Familiarity with the Oregon State engineering curriculum in one or more programs
