This position requires a PhD in History (or a related field) with demonstrable experience teaching and researching the history of the founding documents of United States government, namely the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, the Emancipation Proclamation, and documents of the African American Freedom Struggle. The successful candidate must have an interest in shaping civics education for the 21st century. While ABD candidates are welcome to apply, the PhD must be conferred by the start date of August 16, 2026.
