The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Colorado Anschutz is seeking a full-time Instructor to conduct cutting-edge Down syndrome research in Dr. Joaquin Espinosa's laboratory. The primary goal is to significantly improve the quality of life for individuals with trisomy 21. This role involves understanding Down syndrome as an interferonopathy, utilizing extensive experience in immunological and experimental techniques, with a strong emphasis on new approach methodologies such as iPSCs, Organoids, and Gene editing, as well as primary human biospecimens. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative team focused on aberrant interferon signaling and immune dysregulation in Down syndrome and other biological contexts. The position requires the ability to train and supervise junior personnel and contribute to NIH grant applications. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, an independent and critical thinker, a meticulous experimentalist, a team player, and capable of multitasking in an interactive setting, while maintaining accurate records and contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
