About The Position

The Center for Contract Training department at LaGuardia Community College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant training for a grant-based program. This program is designed to prepare students to take the National Healthcare Association’s (NHA) Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam and work in the healthcare field. Topics include health information technology, documentation, confidentiality, professional etiquette, customer service and patient satisfaction. Schedule: February 2, 2026 – April 21, 2026 Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Tutoring: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (1–2 times per week; schedule TBD)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare administration
  • Hold a valid NHA CMAA certification
  • Experience working with young adult populations; prior teaching experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in healthcare administration
  • Proven ability to develop and adapt to curriculum
  • Must be available to teach in person
  • Must be based in the NYC area
