About The Position

Instructor at Florida Scholars Academy Mission: Deliver effective digital learning to help students succeed through our online platform. Position: Role: Instructor Location: Residential facilities for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Focus: Help at-risk students achieve academic success through engaging and effective teaching.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate (or proof of enrollment in a relevant program), with preferred certifications in Exceptional Student Education (ESE), Gifted, ESOL, and Reading.
• Teaching experience or relevant internship.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Classroom management and effective use of technology.
• Ability to work well in a team and handle high-demand environments.
• Effective communication, customer focus, and interpersonal skills.
• Functional expertise and creativity.
• Strong planning, organizing, problem-solving, and results-driven approach.
• Daily travel to facilities, with occasional overnight stays for meetings and training.
• Light physical activity in an office environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in assigned subjects.
• Adapt resources to meet diverse student needs.
• Supervise students, maintain attendance records, and manage classroom behavior.
• Evaluate and track student progress, provide feedback, and collaborate with colleagues.
• Participate in blended learning models and provide in-person support as needed.
