The Instructor Ophthalmologist provides comprehensive clinical care within their specialty in support of the clinical, educational, and research missions of the College of Medicine and the Department of Ophthalmology. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Successful completion of a three-year residency in Ophthalmology or related specialty
  • Board eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology
  • Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Arkansas medical license

Responsibilities

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with ophthalmologic conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Perform medical and surgical procedures appropriate to specialty training
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in on-call coverage as assigned
  • Engage in medical education by teaching medical students, residents, and/or fellows
  • Participate in clinical research and scholarly activities as applicable
  • Serve on departmental, college, or institutional committees as assigned
  • Promote coordination, continuity, and consistency in patient care
  • Adhere to all institutional policies and uphold standards of dignity and respect
