About The Position

Established in 1926, Family Service League is a social services agency transforming lives and communities through mental health, addiction, housing, and essential human services with more than 60 social service programs in over 20 locations.

Family Service League is seeking a part-time Instructor for the Alcohol Prevention program in Mastic. The Instructor will provide substance abuse primary prevention education to elementary school aged children and the community at large.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed, certified, or credentialed as Credentialed Prevention Professional or Credentialed Prevention Specialist OR licensed, certified, or credentialed in a related disciplined required (i.e., Social Worker, School Counselor, Teacher, Health Educator, e.g.) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of prevention work experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Instructor will plan and execute substance abuse prevention and character-building programs in elementary school and other settings.
• Create and execute substance abuse prevention community presentations.
• The Instructor will participate in Health Fairs.
• Complete data entry.
• All other duties as assigned.
