About The Position

The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at Loyola Marymount University invites applications for an Instructor position to begin Fall 2026. This is a non-tenure track faculty appointment with an initial appointment term of up to 1 year. Continuation beyond the initial term, if any, will be determined based on institutional needs and applicable review processes. This full-time, 9-month academic appointment (August – May) has an annual salary paid over 12 consecutive months, allowing for continuous benefits coverage. We seek candidates with demonstrated potential for teaching excellence to teach introductory courses in Women’s and Gender Studies and upper division courses that contribute to the curriculum, in consultation with the chair. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, teaching position (3-3 base teaching load). PhD in WGST or cognate fields preferred. The Department places a high priority on diverse perspectives, social justice, and inclusive pedagogy in fostering academic excellence. Candidates must show promise in both research and teaching.
