Requirements

  • Associate degree in welding or combination of education/training, experience, and technical certification
  • To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include developing and teaching courses in welding (Arc, MIG, TIG, safety, layout and fabrication) as well as maintaining training/certification through ongoing professional development.
  • Other duties will include engagement with advisory council; assessment/evaluation of instruction; student advisement, recruitment, and retention activities; and participation in college and University committees.
  • Classroom instruction
  • Blackboard course shell development and production
  • Safety training and documentation
  • Maintenance of equipment and laboratory facilities
  • Professional development
  • Service to college and University, including advising and committees
  • Curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Assessment and evaluation of instruction
  • Engagement with advisory council
  • Recruitment and retention of students, including advising students
  • Attendance and participation in all faculty and administrative meetings, Student Research Symposium, commencement ceremonies, and other meetings/events as required
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
