The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Instructor, Veterinary Technology, Foothill College. The primary role of the full-time Veterinary Technology Instructor is to teach veterinary technology students on various subjects in lecture and laboratory settings. Responsibilities will include demonstrating competency and comfortability teaching lecture and hands-on lab courses with live animals, which may include but are not limited to anatomy and physiology, radiology, beginning and advanced nursing skills, anesthesia and surgery, large animal skills, pharmacology, emergency medicine, animal behavior, and other topics. The program emphasizes low stress handling and fear-free methods in all animals. The ideal candidate will have the ability to implement multiple active learning strategies and positively interact with a diverse student population using a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion lens. The secondary role of the full-time faculty is to oversee animal care, including overseeing care of program animals, day-to-day husbandry, and participating in program-specific committees and regulatory compliance.
