About The Position

The Vendor Compliance Instructor reports to the Manager, Tech Ops Training. The Vendor Compliance Instructor will provide technical training to all, but not limited to, Vendors’ Designated Training Examiners, or DTEs, Contractors, and Spirit Technicians, in aircraft systems, policies, the company’s deicing/anti-icing procedures, and fueling processes. The training will be accomplished via On-the-Job Training, Classroom Instruction (in-person or virtual), or assigned Computer-Based Training (CBT). • Maintain the current list of Designated Training Examiners (DTEs) for all On-Call Maintenance (OCM), Line Maintenance Provider (LMP), and Essential Maintenance Provider (EMP) for contracted stations. • Auditing all OCM, LMP, and EMP station contractors for current training status. • Work with station leadership/coordinators to notify them of upcoming expirations and discrepancies in training records. • Updating all vendor training materials required at OCM, LMP, and EMP stations. • Schedule and provide initial/recurrent training for Contracted DTEs. • Work with the Manager of Tech Ops Training / Quality Assurance / Director of Tech Ops Quality with respect to RII designees, Approved Vendor Lists (AVL), and Airworthiness Agreement (AWA) updates. • Maintain authorizations for Engine Run and Taxi and provide training when required. • Provide training, support, or other duties assigned by the Manager of Tech Ops Training. • Maintain current list of DTEs for Fuelers and Deicers, including contacts. • Work with the Manager of Tech Ops Training / Quality Assurance with respect to AVL and AWA updates • Schedule and provide initial/recurrent training for Fueling, Deicing, and other DTEs. • Update Fueling, Deicing, and other curriculum assigned by the Manager of Tech Ops Training. • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g. emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience (Education and Training)
  • 2-4 years of experience in Maintenance and airline operations, within the Airbus 320 family preferred
  • Experience in Education and Training
  • Microsoft Office Experience
  • The ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through strategic planning and the implementation and evaluation of programs and policies.
  • Highly effective at communications at all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
  • Think Critically, Communicate Clearly, Inspire Others, Build Relationships
  • Mastery of all aspects of safety, quality and compliance.
  • Operational leadership experience, with the ability to perform in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Instructors must build, update & edit Classroom/Web-based/CBT Learning Programs.
  • Expertise in aircraft maintenance policies and procedures, safety operations policies and procedures, emergency response procedures, and FAA Regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of aviation maintenance standards, safe operating practices, safety management systems (SMS), FAA regulations and operating specifications.
  • FAA Airframe and Power-plant license required (A&P)
