Job Summary (Purpose and Function): The Fellow Instructor is a fully trained general surgeon who is Board eligible and has a full medical license to practice in Florida . The Fellow Instructor has elected to spend one full year learning from senior faculty and teaching residents advanced laparoscopic surgery. The instructor will not negatively affect the residents' experience in the operating room. The instructor will teach, and perform surgery in conjunction with general surgery resident s , chief resident s , and attending. The chief residents will select room assignments for the instructor and junior residents. The purpose and stated goal of this job is to develop the diagnostic and therapeutic skills of the candidate s o that they can compete for top academic positions and perform as a leader in surgery nationally and internationally.
