About The Position

The Instructor for the Professional Certificate Programs in Medical Assistant at Kennesaw State University is responsible for delivering quality instruction and ensuring student mastery of course content. This part-time role involves teaching various medical assistant skills, providing feedback, assessing student performance, and maintaining program quality. The instructor will engage with students in both classroom and distance learning formats, contributing to the overall educational experience.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within the state of Georgia from an accredited institution
• Current, valid and unrestricted license as a clinician in Georgia
• Five (5) years of work experience in the medical field

Nice To Haves

• Expert knowledge in clinical procedures, lab tests, patient care, pharmacy math & calculations, and drug administration
• Comfortable with teaching in classroom and on a distance learning platform

Responsibilities

• Provides quality and technically relevant instruction of course curriculum
• Teaches students learning strategies
• Conducts teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment, manipulatives, props, and other learning aids
• Provides continual feedback and various methods of assessment measurement by ensuring student mastery of the learning outcomes
• Assesses and records grading for all homework assignments, quizzes, and tests
• Completes paperwork associated with classroom and project management
• Participates in marketing of courses to prospective students during biannual Open House events
• Assists with course and/or program evaluation and continuous improvement
• Maintains acceptable program quality and satisfaction scores
• Keeps Program Manager informed of any curriculum or student code of conduct issues
• Records attendance in learning management system
