The YMCA is seeking a Part-Time Pilates Reformer Instructor to lead safe, engaging, and motivating Pilates sessions for members of all fitness levels. POSITION SUMMARY: The Pilates Reformer Instructor working as part of the Health and Wellness Team, will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA while giving instruction of their specialty. Requirements

  • Certification in Pilates Reformer instruction (PMI, STOTT, Balanced Body, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, alignment, and safe exercise technique
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills
  • Professional, energetic, and encouraging demeanor
  • Availability for part-time sessions, including mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
  • YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles within 90 days of hire
  • National Pilates Reformer certification with a minimum of 40 hours
  • CPR/AED and First Aid

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with group classes, one-on-one sessions, or injury modification techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging Pilates Reformer classes for small groups or individual sessions
  • Modify exercises to accommodate various skill levels and physical abilities
  • Ensure equipment is clean, safe, and properly maintained
  • Provide clear instruction, encouragement, and feedback
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive environment for all members
  • Promote wellness programs and resources within the YMCA community
  • Serve as an instructor for Pilates Reformer Classes
  • Pilates Reformer Instructors are expected to be 10-15 minutes early for class and stay 10-15 minutes after to arrange equipment, clean up, do appropriate record keeping, read notices, and visit with participants
  • To participate in all staff meetings that may be called by the Health and Wellness Director/Supervisor
  • When unable to instruct a particular class, instructors will find a substitute for that class, and inform the supervisor in writing of the substitution
  • Follow and enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies.
  • Carry out emergency plans as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe YMCA. Take initiative to clean up/repair areas.
  • Be dressed in appropriate attire and wear nametag.
  • Attend and remain current on all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
  • Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign.
  • Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests in our facility.
  • Identify leaders for recruitment of volunteer/staff
  • Any other duties as assigned.
