About The Position

Penn State Harrisburg is a campus of the Pennsylvania State University, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s land-grant institution, serving more than 85,000 students. The Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor of Nursing is a one-year appointment, Full-Time, Non-Tenure-Line faculty position beginning August 2026. This is a 42-week full-time position. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who shares our commitment to teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will contribute to our efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for students, foster robust, collaborative research, and engage in service activities supporting institutional goals.

Requirements

• An earned master's degree in nursing. Individuals with a master’s degree will be considered at the rank of instructor, and individuals with a doctoral degree (e.g., DNP, PhD) will be considered at the rank of assistant teaching professor. An earned doctorate degree will be a condition of continued employment after the fifth year for a candidate hired as an instructor.
• Candidates will demonstrate a strong record of teaching and clinical practice in medical-surgical nursing with specialization in advanced medical-surgical nursing
