About The Position

The Instructor of Surgical Technology at Louisiana State University is responsible for delivering comprehensive education in surgical technology through didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction. Requirements

  • Associates in Surgical Technology from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the operating room first scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both within the last 5 years.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct formal classroom teaching in surgical technology, including didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
  • Evaluate student performance in lecture, laboratory, and clinical courses, recording evaluations using the University's learning management system.
  • Develop and implement assessments on program and course student learning outcomes.
  • Collaboratively develop course outlines and clinical experiences to implement the curriculum design.
  • Provide academic advising, track degree transcripts, and monitor student progress and retention.
  • Participate in program, divisional, and University committees and meetings.
