The Instructor of Real Estate will teach upper-level and MBA real estate courses and coordinate the real estate program in the Finance major. Engage with community partners to ensure the real estate program remains strong. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • MBA or related degree or higher
  • Relevant professional license(s) and certification(s)
  • Sufficient industry experience to satisfy business accreditation requirements for qualification
  • Ability to cover upper level real estate courses including Valuation and Appraisal, Finance and Investment, and Development. These courses require foundational knowledge in finance including asset valuation models, software modeling including Excel, construction and engineering fundamentals necessary to interact with contractors in development, and others. This list is a beginning point but not exhaustive
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences
  • Sustained engagement with the industry to be up to date on emerging trends, challenges and opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Teach upper level and MBA Real Estate classes
  • Interact regularly with the real estate business community – real estate firms, developers, financial institutions, and government agencies
  • Promote, enhance and grow the program, interacting with students and stakeholders
  • Use partnerships with the real estate community to build continuing education and workshop opportunities tailored to market demand
  • Mentor and guide students in both academic and career development
