About The Position

The Department of Geosciences in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor of Human Geography to start in January 2026. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment. This non-tenure track Instructor will teach four classes in the Fall and Spring Semesters. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community. Initial appointment is for a period of one year with the possibility for renewal. The opportunity for reappointment will be based on performance and continued need. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Geography or related field, conferred by the start of employment
  • Experience teaching introductory-level human geography or related courses as instructor of record

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. or terminal degree in geography or a related field
  • Teaching experience in face-to-face and online formats
