CT State Community College is seeking a full-time, tenure track Instructor in Computer Engineering Technology. The position requires teaching 30 credit hours per academic year, preparing and teaching college-approved courses, developing syllabi, and maintaining course materials. The instructor will also engage with students, faculty, and external agencies, and participate in departmental responsibilities. The anticipated start date is August 25, 2026.

  • Prepare and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules.
  • Develop syllabi and reading lists, keeping each course taught complete and up to date.
  • Respond to and work with multiple constituencies, including students, peers, and external agencies.
  • Perform divisional departmental responsibilities in the selection of texts and related teaching resources.
  • Evaluate and assess student learning.
  • Provide student support and academic advising.
  • Plan and execute program-related events.
  • Assist with program reviews and curriculum development.
  • Attend workshops and conferences to maintain currency in profession and field.
  • Participate in convocation and commencement ceremonies, and serve on assigned committees.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.
  • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Two or more years of teaching experience in Computer Engineering Technology at the college or AP level (excluding teaching assistant roles).
  • Industry experience in areas such as embedded systems, microprocessors, digital systems, automation, networking, or computer hardware design.
  • Experience with hands-on laboratory instruction and curriculum development.
  • Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment, e.g., Blackboard, online instruction or other modalities/software.
