About The Position

Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University. The College of Applied and Natural Sciences, School of Biological Sciences, invites applications for a faculty position in the Nutrition & Dietetics Program. This is a full-time, on-campus, non-tenure track, 9-month appointment available as either a Lecturer (Ph.D.) or an Instructor (M.S.) position in the School of Biological Sciences, Louisiana Tech University. The responsibilities of the position include serving as director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), teaching, advising, and service. Lecturer position requires an earned doctorate (PhD or DCN) in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Public Health or a closely related field and has a promotion path (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Distinguished Lecturer), based on satisfactory performance and documented excellence in teaching. Instructor position requires an earned M.S. in Nutrition, Dietetics, or closely related field. The School of Biological Sciences is a dynamic, collegial unit with 30 faculty and approximately 600 undergraduate and 35 graduate students (M.S. and Ph.D.). Within the School, the Nutrition & Dietetics program houses an ACEND-accredited undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), a Master of Science program, and a post-baccalaureate ACEND –accredited dietetic internship that works collaboratively with the Master of Science degree. Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited university in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Public Health or closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate course credits in Nutrition.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and eligible for licensure in the state of Louisiana and membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Three years of demonstrated professional practice experience.

  • Experience with ACEND accreditation.
