About The Position

Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Lexington- Leestown Campus is seeking a qualified applicant for a full-time 10-month appointment to teach Adult Medical-Surgical (Adult Health) content for the Associate Degree Nursing Program. The ability to work effectively with our team of educators is essential to success in this position and to the growth of our Nursing Division.

Requirements

  • Associates of Science in Nursing
  • Two (2) years full time or equivalent experience as a registered nurse within the immediate past five (5) years
  • Must have active, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Kentucky

  • Stay abreast of current nursing practice and incorporate as appropriate into student learning.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in instructional presentation and delivery; the planning and designing of instructional programs, instructional evaluation, and assessment
  • Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, curriculum review, revision, and development
  • Incorporate the latest instructional technologies and interactive learning technologies in course delivery
  • Assume a participative role in supporting and promoting the mission, goals, and objectives of the college by performing the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the leadership of the program, division, and college
  • Be responsible for teaching pre-licensure nursing students in the classroom, clinical and skills laboratory settings each semester as needed
  • Help recruit students for the program by serving on the Outreach and Recruitment committee
  • Advise students who are in the program
  • Monitor and improve student retention
  • Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff
  • Participate in faculty committees
  • Other activities as assigned
