About The Position

Responsible for the coordination of all activities related to the Nursing Skills Lab. Collaborates with all faculty to teach, monitor, and evaluate student psychomotor skills and simulation activities. Teaches lecture content in collaboration with the lead course instructor. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience in using advanced technology equipment, including simulators.
Participate in simulation training programs.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function as part of a team.

Master's degree in Nursing
Two (2) most recent years of medical/surgical clinical experience

Responsibilities

Collaborate with faculty in the development and implementation of the nursing curriculum for the nursing skills lab, including lab teaching.
Provide input to the Director of ASN regarding budgetary, teaching, and planning needs for the skills lab.
Collaborate with faculty and course coordinators regarding lab demonstrations, lab testing, standardized testing, and remediation testing.
Coordinate the lab schedules for all courses in the Nursing Department.
Order and maintain supplies for the skills lab.
Maintain a current listing of all inventory holdings and complete an annual audit as per college guidelines.
In collaboration with faculty, set up Skills Fairs, Boot Camps, and Skill Labs each semester.
Function as a clinical instructor as needed.
Assist students in developing proficiency in psychomotor nursing skills.
Teach course sections as assigned.
Uphold all policies and procedures of LSSC.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
