The nursing program at Normandale Community College is seeking a full-time faculty member to join the nursing faculty. The candidate hired for the position will join a dynamic and experienced team of academic nurses and provide instruction in the classroom, skills lab, and clinical settings. We champion the faculty development of and welcome applications from clinically experienced nurses new to the academic setting. Our program is a four-semester associate’s program that: prepares graduates for full participation as advocates and future leaders of the health care team, striving to reflect the communities they will serve. collaborates with health care facilities and community organizations, owning a civic, ethical and professional responsibility to address health inequities and disparities. educates students to use the best available evidence in making sound clinical judgments during the provision of safe, high quality, holistic nursing care across the lifespan and the health continuum. supports nursing graduates to best serve diverse individuals, families and communities locally, nationally and globally through a strong focus on health promotion values lifelong learning, reflective nursing practice and insights gained through self-analysis and self-care. Our program is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Normandale Community College is striving to achieve racial equity in educational outcomes. Those hired into this position will be expected to advance this goal through culturally responsive teaching, identifying barriers to success for students of color, and proposing effective solutions to eliminate those barriers. The successful candidate will be expected to: Teach a broad spectrum of nursing courses in that may include day, evening, and alternate schedule formats utilizing traditional and alternative delivery methods and virtual learning environments Teach in an inclusive and equitable manner to a diverse group of learners Provide instruction and advising to nursing students Provide quality instruction that incorporates a variety of current teaching techniques and pedagogies that positively impact the learner and discipline of nursing Maintain ongoing professional development activities that support the college mission, the discipline of nursing, and learner success Actively engage in college service, department activities, and learner support Participate in program review and accreditation efforts Design and deliver instruction that incorporates technologies that advance learning
