About The Position

The Nursing Instructor position is a full-time faculty appointment (9 to 10-month contract). Responsibilities include developing nursing curriculum and delivering instructional content in the classroom. The role also involves serving as nursing faculty in clinical settings, providing both direct and indirect supervision to students as they apply nursing clinical skills and make decisions. This position reports to the Director of Nursing.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico in good standing or a current unencumbered compact state RN license (must obtain New Mexico RN license within 90 days of employment).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (must enroll in an accredited Master's in Nursing program by the end of the first academic year of employment).
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care or long-term care setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Administrative and/or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in Nursing education.
  • Experience with educational learning management systems (LMS).

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction for assigned Nursing courses and assist in coordinating adjunct faculty teaching in Nursing, if applicable.
  • Develop course syllabi in accordance with ENMU-Roswell's standardized syllabus format.
  • Supervise and direct students in clinical environments, which may include on-campus clinical rotations, simulations, or off-campus direct client care clinical rotations.
  • Maintain a minimum of ten posted office hours per week.
  • Keep accurate attendance records and follow institutional procedures for reporting student grades.
  • Create a learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
  • Develop and administer assignments, quizzes, and examinations that align with course objectives and comprehensively assess student learning.
  • Provide academic advising to nursing students.
  • Participate in curriculum development and revision to ensure alignment with professional standards and educational best practices.
  • Attend graduation ceremonies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Annual pay based on degree level: Associate Degree $65,000, Bachelor Degree $67,500, Master Degree $70,000, Doctorate Degree $72,500.
  • All degree levels may qualify for a $9,000 annual stipend.
