About The Position

Holtec Palisades seeks qualified applicants for the position of I&C Maintenance Instructor in its Training department based at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, MI. Palisades is positioned to become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. By joining our team, you will be part of a unique and historic undertaking for the nuclear industry and the nation! Job Summary: Conducts I&C initial and continuing training. Works closely with I&C Maintenance department personnel to identify weaknesses in knowledge, skill, and behavior, and then systematically leverages training solutions appropriately to close gaps in performance in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, engineering or related technical degree or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of I&C maintenance related experience (commercial or military).
• Technical proficiency in the assigned area.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• SRO license or certification on BWR and/or PWR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops instructional materials and conducts training for I&C Maintenance technicians.
• An incumbent for this position should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory (SAT/TSD).
• This level is also responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory, and legal requirements.
• Ensures accredited I&C Maintenance training program and instructional materials are maintained current by incorporating plant changes.
• Maintains knowledge of plant operational conditions to support the analysis, design, and development of high-quality training materials.
• Conducts trainee evaluations in various training settings (classroom, laboratory, OJT, etc.,).
• Supports station business initiatives, refueling outages, Emergency Planning (EP) duties, and other projects.
• The I&C Maintenance instructor is also required to participate in instructional continuing training.
• Must participate in management assessments.
• Ensures training records are complete, accurate and auditable.
• Demonstrates leadership by upholding high standards in all training settings.
