About The Position

The purpose of this job is to teach in the area of HVAC. Work with the Dean in recruiting students; maintain required documentation; maintain classroom/lab and any equipment; enforce safety regulations and perform a variety of related duties.

Requirements

  • Two years of advanced training and/or related industry experience in specified teaching area.
  • EPA refrigerant recovery certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or diploma in the teaching field.
  • Some teaching or training experience.
  • NC HVAC Contract License.
  • ESCO certification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage instructional program and teach 18-30 classroom and lab contact hours per week in the HVAC program.
  • Recruit students for the program and ensure that promotional information is current and accurate.
  • Assist the Dean in recruiting, hiring, and mentoring qualified adjunct faculty for the HVAC program.
  • Advise students through the program using current information.
  • Develop and maintain accessible syllabi and course materials specific to the program.
  • Coordinate textbook selection, library resources, equipment, and supplies to enhance learning.
  • Assist the Dean with class scheduling.
  • Raise funds through grants and/or other means to meet the financial needs of the program.
  • Participate in professional development activities that benefit the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean, or the Vice President, Instruction.
  • Instruction may occur inside BYHS or on other PCC campuses.
  • All faculty work a minimum of 39 hours per week.
