Fitness instructors can be assigned to a group exercise or aquatics supervisor to teach regular and specialty group exercise classes or do personal or aquatics training, one-on-one or in small groups. Must be able to use and trouble shoot problems with class-related equipment. A Fitness Instructor can be assigned to the fitness or operations manager, where they handle fitness orientations, follow-ups, FitLife appointments, and personal training appointments that cannot be scheduled with exercise specialists. A Fitness Instructor can do fitness assessments and construct appropriate fitness prescriptions for individuals and groups. Fitness instructors circulate fitness areas to make sure members are getting the help they need, offer them advice on proper form, and motivate them to continue their healthy behaviors through suggestions to improve their training routines to meet their fitness goals. Expected to complete projects designated by the fitness manager, operations manager or supervisor and in some fitness centers, assists with all daily business operations.
