About The Position

Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world-class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology. We are seeking passionate investment professionals, with a deep understanding of financial investment strategies used to create a strong portfolio, to teach our Finance and Investment Management courses for learners aged 13-18. In the course, students will explore the basics of finance and investment and the psychology of money. They will learn what finance really means, the different ways you to invest money, and how the stock market works. They will also learn he main financial investment strategies that help balance risk and rewards to create a winning portfolio. The ideal instructor candidates for these courses should possess a strong foundation in investment strategies, managing portfolios, value investing, growth investing, momentum investing, and diversification, as well as some teaching, TA or training experience. Finance and Investment Management is offered 2 times at at University of Washington Seattle campus (Poplar Hall and Maple Hall classrooms) . Instructors hired to teach this course must be available from 9:00am-3:30pm PT from June 29-July 10 and July 27-August 7 (plus 1 week in June for training). Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted starting in March 2026.

Requirements

  • Availability to teach during the day (from 9am-3:30pm) in July and August 2026 (dates listed above)
  • Previous professional experience in finance and investment roles.
  • Alumni with a Bachelor's Degree in business with finance specialty OR Masters students currently pursuing Masters Degree in Finance or MBA.
  • Proficiency in stock market analysis, analyzing company financial statements and building stock portfolios.
  • Comfortable using Google Finance for research and analysis
  • Understanding of investment strategies and good practices like value investing, growth investing, momentum investing, and diversification.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Create lesson plans and lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following Circuit Stream's Finance & Investment Management course curriculum (curriculum and Instructor guides provided)
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their final project, a simulated investment portfolio
  • Showcase proficiency in in making investment decisions based on market data
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
  • Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.
